On June 12, 2019, a formal inauguration ceremony was held at the Palace of Independence by Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev as President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In accordance with Article 42 of the Constitution, Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev took the oath:
- I solemnly swear to faithfully serve the people of Kazakhstan, strictly follow the Constitution and the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, guarantee the rights and freedoms of citizens, and conscientiously fulfill the high duties assigned to me by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan!
In honor of the inauguration of the elected President of Kazakhstan, the National Anthem was performed, 21 artillery salvoes were produced, and the National Flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan was raised above the Akorda residence.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the First President of Kazakhstan –Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev, deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, members of the Government, representatives of public organizations, the media, business circles, prominent figures of science, culture and art, leaders of youth organizations. In total, 2500 people took part in the ceremony.
In conclusion, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, received the report of Defense Minister Nurlan Yermekbayev on the square in front of the Palace of Independence. The ceremonial calculations of the different types of troops of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan took place in front of the Head of State
